A head start outside
Harrow the first field
Ian managed to harrow the first field on Wednesday to get a head start outside for when the weather improves. There will have to be a field walk to pick up the docks that came out next week.
75 metres of early potatoes at the rate of 3 potatoes per metre are now in the ground- Swift if you really want to know the brand. Ian walked to check up on them on Wednesday evening and found the leaves just peeking through so he stopped to earth them up which was a good thing as there was an overnight frost which saw Thursday morning white and crisp and even. He wasn’t actually expecting to see them through with it having been so chilly.
The broad beans are not looking happy with themselves because it’s been so wet and miserable – some sunshine should help them to pick up though.
