Visitors from South Tyne Sustainability
Touring the polytunnels
Last Saturday (July 2nd), we had a group of visitors from South Tyne Sustainability, based in Haltwhistle. They come to find out more about what we do and how we do it. Having toured the fields we beat a hasty retreat to shed which is now nearly complete for coffee and a delicious picnic.
The visit was part of their 2016 programme Visiting Edible Gardens– places such as the community garden at Hexham Middle School and the Wylam Community Orchard, Apple Days and Harvest Markets in the area. The programme, which is free, aims to encourage everyone from novices to green fingered experts to become involved in the ‘grow your own local produce movement’.
